Travel in the Scottish Borders

 

There are three major trunk roads within the borders: A1 in the east, A68 (through Jedburgh) in the centre and the A7 more westerly.

Train.
Frequent trains run through Berwick upon Tweed (about 45 mins to Kelso by car) to Edinburgh, or Carlisle on the other side of the country.  There is no train service directly from the Borders.
