Electrical current: The
standard electrical supply is 230v AC. To use
small appliances, you may need a plug adaptor to fit our 3-pin flat
to 2 pin round wall sockets. If you wish to be
prepared then travel adaptors or transformers can be purchased before departure.
Shopping:
Most shops are open 9am to 5.30pm Monday to
Saturday. Some smaller towns have an early closing day.

Car ferries: There is a 20 minute
car ferry across the River Shannon from Tarbert in Co Kerry to Killimer in Co Clare. The
ferry leaves Killimer every hour on the hour and Tarbert every hour on the half hour.
During peak time there is a second boat in operation. There is a 10 minute car ferry
running all the time which takes one hour off the driving time
between Ballhack in Co
